5 Ways I Like to Relax

It isn’t so easy to relax when you are the parent of a small child. Let’s face it, they take up a majority of time. Whenever I do get a chance though, I enjoy doing something that takes my mind off of everything else in my life. Coming away from technology and the online world for a while and doing something different. Here are just 5 ways I like to relax.

Read

I love reading. I always have. These days, rather than reading an actual book, I tend to use my Kobo reader. It is easy to use and I download all my books via the WiFi at home. It also means that I can use it with the lights out so, if I can’t sleep, I can still see to read. I can also turn down the brightness so it doesn’t disturb Ross.

Photography

Probably my most favourite thing in the world – apart from my family – is my photography. I am always looking for new angles and ways to improve my images. If money was no object, I think I would own every single lens ever made!

Play Golf

I haven’t played golf in over 4 years. I used to love it and Ross and I played it regularly. My frozen shoulder put a stop to it and now, of course, we have Rex. I have definitely decided that I would love to get back to it again. I may be a little behind in where I had been but I am sure that I will soon pick it up again. I might even treat myself to some new clothes especially for it! For a great selection of sporty golf clothing – see here.

Go for a drive

It might sound a little strange, but one of my most relaxing pastimes is driving my car. I used to have dreams before I could drive that I was driving a car and had found my freedom. I could go anywhere. I still feel that way now I can drive. If ever I feel that the walls are closing in on me and Rex is not sleeping so well, we bundle up and go out in the car. I feel like I can get away from everyone and everything that way.

Listen to music

Listening to music is regularly my go to when I like to relax. I like all sorts of music and, when I was pregnant, I put together a playlist for the baby when I couldn’t sleep as well as a list of music to play during my labour. I also regularly listen to meditation and relaxation music as I find it helps me to sleep when I am having difficulty drifting off.

This is a collaborative post.
