Having previously reviewed our first pair of shoes for GORE-TEX® as part of their Family Days Ambassador scheme, Grace was very excited to receive her second pair for review recently.
She received the Adidas Terrex Outdoor Trainers in Ash Purple/Black/Bold Pink and I have to admit to being extremely envious. They are gorgeous!
They have a special elasticated tie system which they call bungee that does away with the need for laces. This means no laces coming untied as you exercise. They also boast the waterproof and extremely breathable GORE-TEX® Extended Comfort footwear technology, mesh & synthetic leather upper and TRAXION® rubber outsole. The GORE-TEX® promise means that they are guaranteed to keep you dry.
On top of all those benefits they are lightweight and are designed for moving fast on uneven ground to ensure the smoothest, most comfortable transition from heel strike to toe-off. Their waterproof technology is supposed to help with comfort in slush, snow, and rain but it still allows any sweat vapors to escape meaning that your feet stay dry.
A couple of months ago we started two new exercise regimes. The first was a karate class every Friday and the second was a 5k park run every Saturday morning. One of the things Ross and I were concerned about was Grace’s footwear – especially for the park run as we can go barefoot for karate.
The park run in Yeovil is at Montacute House and it is all grass. This means that it can be very slippery under foot if you do not have the right grips on your feet. Not so now as the soles of her new Adidas look like they are going to help her stability. This will mean that we are able to run with much more confidence.
This is not the only exercise Grace gets. One of her regular walks is with Ross down into town to get some food shopping. This is a great chance for them to stretch their legs and have a bit of time together discussing things and putting the world to rights!
On our next review of these trainers, I hope to be able to bring you photos of Grace completing our local park run as we didn’t make it there last week. So far though, Grace is definitely of the opinion that these are better than her last pair. Her comment – ‘those were good but these are even better – and much cooler!’.
Disclosure: We received these Superfit Gore-Tex shoes as part of the Big Days 2015 Brand Ambassador campaign in return for an honest review.
