My 3 Blogging Goals for the Next Year

My 3 Blogging Goals for the Next Year

A week ago today I celebrated my 3rd year of blogging by sharing with you 10 reflections over the past 3 years. I also said that I would be telling you my 3 blog goals for the coming year (what is it with the number 3 today?!).

So, in no particular order, here is what I would like to achieve:

1 More ‘free from’ recipes

New recipe over on my blog #freefrom #glutenfree #refinedsugarfree

New recipe over on my blog #freefrom #glutenfree #refinedsugarfree

I have been trying to eat a far more healthier diet over the past year. At the beginning of this year I shared my health and well-being posts and during the summer I stayed at Amchara’s health retreat (I now work for them too!). I will be writing about my experience with them at some point, but, what I did find that it has changed the way I look at food. As a result, I eat far less refined sugar, wheat and gluten and a little bit less dairy. It has made me feel a lot better so I now challenge myself on a regular basis to find new and exciting things to eat. I have already shared recipes for chocolate walnut brownies and doughnut cakes and, this week, I will be sharing my recipe for vegan cheesecake. On top of that, the rest of my family seem to love it too.

2 Continuing to improve my photography

If I look at my photography now, compared to say, a year ago, I am so pleased with my improvement. I have followed a couple of courses including an advanced foundation and find the more I practice, the happier I am with the quality of what I am doing. I am always on manual mode now and find it easier on this setting to be able to set the aperture and speeds myself to take the best photo I can. I have also found that I have improved the composition on all my subjects and even got better with using the camera on my iPhone!

3 Vlogging and more videos

When I first started blogging, I also started vlogging as well and, as a result, I made the finals of BiB awards. I regret never continuing with my videos but I have now made an effort to understand my YouTube channel better and record a trailer. I have lots of subscribers but nothing to offer them! So, lots more videos will start making their way over on to this blog. This will include me reading my poetry, more reviews and, at some point, a personal series of vlogs.

Here is my trailer –

On top of that, Grace also now has a YouTube channel and here is her trailer –

So, that is it. They are not major changes but they are ones that make me happy. Post Comment Love and Prose for Thought will continue because I enjoy them and, I hope you will continue to read!

Happy 3 years! I can’t believe you have only been blogging for that time, you have achieved so much. I am sure you will smash those goals and plenty more beside. Thanks for linking up to #TheList x

Blogging has definitely improved my photography, at least in that it has encouraged me to always look for slightly more imaginative and expressive photos of my kids, rather than just snapping routine efforts. I’m a great fan of ‘candid’ photos rather than posed ones – my blog’s full of little shots that were taken in the moment. They may not always be the best technical shots (although I’m getting better) but they tell a story in a way that mere words can’t, which I love.

I have to admit I don’t watch many vlogs but I am always hugely impressed by the ones I do watch. Given that I most definitely have a face for radio, I may just stick to podcasting though!

Three great goals for the next year – will have to try out a couple of your recipes. I definitely don’t eat as healthily as I should but I think lacking inspiration is part of the struggle so adding new recipes to my repertoire should help with that! Your photos are stunning too 🙂

It’s always good to have some goals isn’t it and yours are totally do-able. Your photography is looking great but it’s always fun to practice. I will have to check out your YouTube channel too! #thelist

They all seem like sensible (and enjoyable to do) goals for next year.

I’m on 3 years too (well self hosted, next month), and this year was all about photography for me too. I must do a trailer for my YouTube too, although I’m not really going to be a vlogger – I can’t keep on track and waffle too much.

It sounds like you’ve set yourself some really useful and achievable goals for the next year. I’d definitely like to work on my photography and need to find some time to familiarise myself with my camera. Congratulations on three years by the way! #pocolo

I’ve never done a vlog- which I am keen to do – but my main goal is to go self-hosted. x

Hi Victoria, I like your photographs, you do a good job and as they say practice makes perfect. I just watched your little YouTube clip and it’s nice to meet you and your family in the flesh (so to speak), I loved Graces giggle. I have toyed with YouTube and do have one video hidden deep in the recesses of my blog, it is something I would like to expand on, but for now I find blogging time consuming enough, without adding video editing to the work load. I remember in one of your recent posts you said you were feeling slightly uninspired, so hopefully making videos will inspire you.

A healthy diet is the best and I hope you find some tasty ‘free from’ resipes.

It’s funny as we’re thinking of doing less video and more written reviews and experiences. We definitely agree with the photo aspect and making our posts more beautiful 🙂 Some great goals to strive for xx #PoCoLo x

You really gave done so much in three short years hon, truly incredible! Your goals are great! Sounds like you’ve completely changed your eating habits and are in such a good place with your diet, you should be so proud of yourself, it’s no mean feat!

Your photography skills have improved massively – you and a few other bloggers are inspiring me to try a lot harder in that department 🙂 I look forward to seeing more of you on camera.

Right, I’m off to write my own goals now! Thanks so much for sharing with #DiffLinky. Have a fab weekend xxx

Like Sarah, I can’t believe that you’ve only been blogging for three years. I’ve been reading Verily Victoria Vocalises since January 2013 and always thought that you’d been blogging for a very long time before then. I love each and every one of your goals x

Congratulations on making it to three years! It seems like you’ve been blogging longer than that! I hit four years last month. I love your goals – your photography is fantastic these days! I resolved the other day that I was going to improve my blog’s FB page, which doesn’t do a lot at the moment!
