Girls Talk – A Wot So Funee Post

Firstly, I have to say that I feel really bad. There are lots of lovely people who join up to this linky and I am so sorry that I don’t comment on your posts when you do on mine. I am going to make the extra effort this week to get round to everyone on the funee.

Grace still isn’t great at keeping secrets and I guess the long drive to school doesn’t help as that is where many of our conversations take place. The other day she informed me that as ‘Les Miserables’ was out on DVD soon, I would be getting it for my birthday. ‘Grace, you are not supposed to tell me!’ I exclaimed. She said to me ‘I know I am not supposed to tell you but at least you know now so you can get even more excited for it!’.

Another day as we were driving along, Grace noticed that my car went up to 150mph. ‘Muummm?’ yep, that’s right, the questioning voice again, ‘When can you actually go 150?’ I explained to her that there was nowhere on the normal roads that you would be able to do this. ‘Well’ she replied ‘Maybe later on when the world is older, you will be able to’.

Scotland has been a big subject for her recently. I put this down to the Disney film. Brave. Aside from the ‘feast your eyes on this’ nightie lifting incident that continues to be a part of her repetoire, the pretend Scottish voice continues to make an appearance. She said to me the other day ‘Mum, I would really like to go to visit Scotland’. When I asked why, she replied ‘Because there are Scottish people!’ Well, ask a silly question….

Then, finally, the other day Grace got up in a really good mood (normally we have to almost drag her out of bed on a school morning). I said to her ‘Grace, this is lovely, you are in such a great mood’. ‘Yes!’ she replied enthusiastically ‘this is Grace the new version – I’ve reloaded myself!’

Funny how both our daughters were influenced by the film Brave with their Funee posts today 🙂 I don’t think of it as being mine, it just writes itself…

At Christmas i was told not to buy myself perfume, jewellery or a handbag incase I received them … By my mum! She tends to ruin surprises more than the children! X
