I can’t believe it! It is the penultimate day of NaPoWriMo and I have actually written 29 poems in 29 days with just one to go!! I am going to do this :). Over the weekend, Ross and I listened to my Top 100 songs of the moment, with the final 40 today. I am now on my 3rd since being with him. A number of songs in my top ten are all about mortality (I don’t mean that to sound morbid!) and I often wonder if love follows on with us into the next life. I like to believe it does. One of the songs in my top 100 is ‘Tears in Heaven’ by Eric Clapton. It was played at my Grandad’s funeral and Ross knows that I boo my eyes out everytime but he is also very appreciative of the strong relationship we must have shared.
Until The End of Time
Is there really a God above?
Heaven only knows
Is there somewhere full of love
Where all the good ones go?
Are there Angels watching me?
Looking over what I do
Do they decide just what will be
And what will happen to who?
Why do some get taken young
Whilst some can live so old?
Some whose lives have just begun
Whilst others can live so bold
These questions I have no answer to
As much as I’ve looked for signs
But what I do know is I love you
Until the end of time
