NaPoWriMo Day 16 – Broken Hopes
Today’s NaPoWriMo is a poem about the atrocities that took place at the Boston Marathon yesterday. How one person can murder another is still something so utterly beyond me. I can’t understand how people can be so evil. It’s at the funeral of people like this, who kill others, that we should celebrate.
Broken Hopes
Humans taking another ones life
Tell me, what gives you that right?
Really, what will you achieve
But heartbroken families having to grieve
Causing suffering, emotional pain
What you have done is all in vain
As people pull together, support
You set this up. Did you give any thought?
Father, Mother, Daughter, Son
Is what you’ve taken from someone
Ripped apart, torn at the seams
Broken hopes and shattered dreams
