Not one, but two Postcards from Ghana! #teamhonk #goodwork
Following on from my post about my Top 5 Comic Relief songs yesterday, I was rather chuffed to receive not one, but TWO postcards from Ghana by email today.
The first seen above is from Penny:
Dear Vicky
We arrived at the Basic Needs mental health self help group on a hot, humid afternoon to find the group running their monthly meeting under the shade of the trees. To the left is Angela Robey producer on Woman’s Hour and to the right presenter Jane Garvey. The meeting is chaired by Dora a project beneficiary. The meeting covers the loans the group received to train and start new businesses, taking it in turns to share healthcare advice and ends with amazing singing. Very inspirational.
Love Penny
The second postcard I received was from Annie:
Hello Victoria!
This afternoon we visited a mental health self help support group meeting run by the Basic Needs Trust. Here you can see a meeting taking place. Run in a similar way to a PTA meeting there are minutes and everything is recorded. Each meeting is run by an elected service user and users share their own knowledge and experiences to help the group on a number of topics from finances to health.

I know that the girls are all now back on home turf and enjoying a well-earned rest and probably a gin or two! Welcome home ladies, we salute you!
