Having previously taken part, I decided to complete NaPoWriMo 2016. Poetry and prose is something I love and I have been writing my own original verse since my early twenties.
I didn’t use the prompts every day. I wrote about memories, my weight, a walk to the shops, Shakespeare, Earth Day, stars we’ve lost, About Me = which was a Kenning poem, blogging – which was chosen as a keynote piece to be read out at BritMums Live 2016, a bad day, a perfect day, being together, advice for my daughter, two halves of me. Also an ode to chocolate, a poem to my estranged father, a passion for photography. a poem about social media.
