I am happy to review a product if I feel it is relevant to the readers of this blog and something either me or any member of my family and friends would be interested in. The review will be written by me when a brand or PR company has sent a product for me or a member of my family in exchange for a review and, if necessary, financial compensation. The review will always be honest, and, if there is an aspect of the product that I don’t like/am not happy with then I will write about this in a positive and constructive manner. I will include appropriate links to the brand’s own website or an online retailer, alongside a full review of the product with a photographs that either I have taken, or that have been supplied. There will be a clear disclosure on the review if I have received it solely for this purpose, however, I often review things I have bought or experienced and am enthusiastic about and in that instance then I will not supply a disclosure within the post.
Advertorials and Featured Posts:
I am sometimes asked, and paid, to host content that has been written and provided by a brand or PR company. I will ensure that any content that is supplied to me is relevant to this blog. I reserve the right to change the wording slightly if I feel it is a better fit for my blog but essentially this is not something I have written. I would be publishing it in exchange for payment. It may say it is in “collaboration with” or “in partnership with” or “this is an advertorial” but it will be clear to my readers that this is an advertorial.
These are posts that I have been paid to write and publish on my blog. I reserve the right to turn down offers if I feel that they are not of interest to my readers. I may talk about a product, or a company or services, often with a link to their website. Again this post may say “in collaboration”, “sponsored” or “in partnership with”. For this post I will have been paid money or given vouchers in exchange for the post and have not been given a product.
These are written by bloggers and friends, often on a topic that is important to them, and have either been written because I asked them to guest post on my blog, or because they approached me. In this instance, no money would have changed hands. I will always link back to their blog and social media channels where appropriate.
If I host a competition or prize draw on my blog and in return I receive a free product then I will clearly state this on my post. If I am paid to run a competition or prize draw then, again, this will be clearly stated. The company I deal with is fully responsible for fulfilling their obligations to the prize winner. I always use either Rafflecopter or Gleam to ensure that the winner is drawn fairly. The company must send the winners prize within 28 days of the draw. Further details regarding the fee structure for this can be found on my Media Pack. Please note that each competition post will contain full terms and conditions.
As an ambassador I am compensated for being part of a campaign with product and/or financial compensation, i.e. a set fee for a minimum number of blog posts. This also includes promotion on social media. I always ensure that I fulfill the role to my utmost capabilities and expect a mutual respect from the company I am working with. I may well go above and beyond what is expected.
If you work for a brand or PR company and think we might be able to work together, please do get in touch via my ‘Contact Me’ page. I can provide you with either a Media Pack containing my pricing structure or a Statistics Pack upon request.
