A Great New Sun Shade from Sun and the Beach
*Gifted Product*
Prior to our garden makeover, we never really had an issue with shade. A huge line of conifers meant that we had plenty of it! However, now these have been removed we have a lovely, bright, sunny garden. But you always seem to want what you don’t have – don’t you? A bit of shade is a good thing, especially for Rex so husband and wife team Dan and Sarah have come to the rescue in the form of their business, Sun and the Beach, and their fantastic Sun Shade.

Who are the Sun and the Beach?
Dan and Sarah, have just launched the Sun and the Beach to create sun shades which add a touch of luxury, practicality, and style to a day in the sun. Who needs those ugly plastic domes anyway?! They are SO difficult to put up and even harder to take down again! Instead, why not opt for an open, breezy beach shelters which are great for the garden too?!

Dan and Sarah said “Everything we tried just seemed lacking – most options were too enclosed, blocking the view and even made you hotter, and don’t get me started about trying to pack them back into their flimsy bags at the end of the day”. I completely get where they are coming from!
To ensure that they got it right, they went through 20 prototypes.
Our Thoughts on The Sun Shade
Dan and Sarah really have gone the extra mile with this design. Not only does it look stylish, available in two gorgeous colours; aquamarine and coral, but it is straightforward to set up. It is also completely open which means it allows fresh air to run through the shade as well as preventing any areas of obstruction allowing you to take in the view – as well as keep an eye on your kids!

It is easy to transport and versatile meaning you can use it in gardens, beaches, parks and other outdoor spaces. It is UV protective and is finished beautifully. They have been thoughtful enough to include a small fold-out shovel to help fill up the sandbags – plus it is pretty handy if you forget to bring a spade along, or need an extra one to stop any squabbling!
As well as all this, they have a unique towel hook which attaches to the poles meaning you can keep items up and out of the sand.

All of this fits neatly into the handy, durable carry bag.

In our experience we needed more than one person to put it up! It was quite tricky getting the centre poles to stay in place as you did each of them. That said, we did put ours up on the grass so it may be much easier on the sand!
We were really impressed with the quality and feel of the shade itself. Whilst it did blow around in the wind quite a bit, it stayed pretty stable and certainly didn’t go anywhere. I love the option or either using pegs or sand bags. Everything is sturdy and well-made including the little shovel.

The sun shade is currently available from The Sun and The Beach at a discounted price of £95 with FREE delivery!
