TRONO Inflatable Travel Chair Review

I hadn’t really thought about what we were going to do about a comfortable travel chair before we left for Spain back in May. In the past I had always sat on a towel or made do with the grass or sand, or used one of the hotel’s sunbeds.

I was very aware of the fact that I wouldn’t be able to sit down an awful lot with an almost one year old in tow but, when I did, I wanted to make sure that I was able to do this in comfort. Step up the TRONO Inflatable Travel Chair.

About Trono

Trono set out to make the most compact, convenient and comfortable inflatable chair on the planet.  They wanted to ensure it suited everyone, however and wherever they travelled and I firmly believe that they have succeeded. W

They are active in over 40 countries, but are continuing to explore and innovate to supply everyone. That includes their great new kids range.

The TRONO Inflatable Travel Chair

TRONO Inflatable Travel Chair

Our choice of comfort is mainly sitting by the beach or the pool but the TRONO Inflatable Travel Chair is made for just about any type of travel experience. It means that you have the chair on hand at all times without the hassle of carrying it around.

The chair is extremely light and compact. We can attest to that. We took two TRONO chairs with us in our luggage to Spain and it caused no issues whatsoever.

The TRONO is made from the parachute material that people use to jump out of planes! This makes it extremely light at just 1.7 lbs / 0.8kg and very strong, meaning it holds up to 150kg/330 lbs. Each TRONO also comes with a removable and washable fabric cover to add maximum comfort.

On top of all of this, the TRONO comes with a puncture repair kit and built-in loops in the base of the chair to enable you to secure it into the ground with pegs (not supplied but can be bought separately). You can also purchase a special beach cover which is more absorbent than the standard one and a ground protector which protects the base of your chair from sharp objects.

How to Inflate the TRONO Inflatable Travel Chair

It takes a bit of getting used – and you need a bit of space – but once you get the hang of it, it is pretty straightforward.

This video from TRONO tells you how:

Our Thoughts

TRONO Inflatable Travel Chair

I have to admit that we were a little sceptical upon receiving these chairs. Ross just thought we were going to end up with another product that wouldn’t get used and I expected them to be far harder and far less comfortable than they claimed.

I am happy to say that they proved us wrong on both scores. The chair is easy to pack and fold. Inflating is a little trickier than it shows on the video, but once they are up then they are wonderfully comfortable and easy to use.

One thing you do have to watch is the wind. If you are not sitting on them, and it is a bit blowy, then they do have a tendency to escape from you. On one occasion one of ours landed up in the pool! We started putting books and bags on them to weigh them down so the pegs they sell may be a good idea.

The TRONO isn’t cheap. It costs 79 euros and comes with a carry bag, a specially treated water repellent suede cover and puncture repair kit as well as quick start instructions. Delivery costs 10 euros and takes 1-3 business days (there is free shipping for orders over 125 euros). They also offer a 30-day money back guarantee.

The transportation of them is so easy. They sat in the bottom of our pushchair and packed easily into our suitcases. They were so light, we hardly even knew they were there! They are easy to pack down and very comfortable to sit on.

Whilst the cost is fairly high, you do get a great quality product. We totally recommend the TRONO Inflatable Travel Chair!
