I don’t know about you, but I have always been pretty sceptical about products when they make specific claims. Sometimes things which are too good to be true usually are. This is why I like to put things to the test before I let my readers know exactly what I think of them. This includes the latest product I have been sent from Science of Skin.
Who are Science of Skin?
Science of Skin was founded back in 2015 by two cosmetic surgeons – both of whom specialise in wound healing. is a solution focused skincare brand, founded by two cosmetic surgeons who specialise in wound healing and are passionate about creating products that actually work. Because they are still a relatively young company they are really keen to get people trialling the product who will reap the benefits.
Their range includes Solution for Scars, Solution for Stretch Marks, Stretch Mark Defence and, coming soon, Solution for Bites. They are also planning on expanding their range in the future.
Which products am I reviewing?
I shall be trialling the Solution for Stretch Marks alongside the Stretch Mark Defence. The former has been developed especially for new mums and the latter for mums-to-be.
The Solution for Stretch Marks formulation works by combining active green tea extracts, highly moisturising natural ingredients and vitamins C and E. Combined together, these ingredients help to reduce the appearance of stretch marks and soothe symptoms such as uncomfortable, sore, irritable-feeling skin. This product also helps with weight-gain stretch marks and growth-spurt marks.
Stretch Mark Defence solution works to soothe and moisturise the skin as your baby bump gets bigger. The active ingredients include green tea, vitamin E and super-hydrating plant extracts to help relieve the signs and symptoms of stretching skin – such as tightness, dryness and irritation. What I really like about this particular bottle is that it is a spray delivery system. This means that there is no oily residue to contend with – unlike other products I have been using – as it’s quickly absorbed into the skin.
I have had stretch marks around the tops of my legs ever since my pregnancy with Grace. Thankfully, they are not totally obvious but I know they are there and that bothers me occasionally. So far, I haven’t detected any new stretch marks during this pregnancy but I am certain that there are new ones on top of the old ones! My tummy and breasts weren’t affected last time around so I am determined for that to happy again!
The Stretch Mark Defence solution is for use on all areas at risk to stretch marks during pregnancy. These include abdomen, hips, breasts and thighs. You hold the can 6 inches away from the skin and spray then gently massage the areas for around 2 minutes. For use twice daily throughout pregnancy.
The Solution for Stretch Marks is going to be put to the test on the tops of my thighs. You massage it into the affected area for at least a minute to ensure it is completely absorbed. For use 2 to 3 times daily.
See the results in 6 weeks time
I have decided to give this 6 weeks to see what effect both solutions have on my skin. This is around a month before the baby is due and should show me whether they work.

Please note that Science of Skin kindly sent me these solutions but I was not obliged to write this post.
