Guardian Angel. #Prose4T #ThePrompt

For some reason I have always believed that my grandparents and my uncle on my mother’s side are there watching over me. I feel that they are, in effect, my guardian angels and like to think that sometimes I feel them watching out for me when I most need it. I often speak to them when I need some guidance, support or reassurance. When I saw Sara’s latest prompt was the word ‘whisper’ I knew I could use this word to write a poem with them in mind.

Guardian Angel

A song on the breeze
A whisper in the air
There are small reminders
Most everywhere

I feel their presence
Watch over me
Their strength supporting
The best I can be

When I’m uncertain
Feeling insecure
I look to them
To reassure

I know they want
What’s best for me
Guiding decisions
And helping me see

In the future I hope
My grandchildren are able
To feel my presence
As their guardian angel

This is just beautiful. Olivia’s grandad has been diagnosed with terminal lung cancer and we recently named them both a star so she can feel like he is watching her from there when the time comes #prose4t

I’m not supposed to believe in Guardian Angels, but I am pretty sure there’s something that watches out for us, and I’m glad this gives you comfort. I spoke to a friend who passed away about a worry I had the other day and got the distinct impression she rolled her eyes at me and told me to get on with it! Bright blessings to you.

I think anything that gives you comfort is worth believing in 🙂 I am sure that she did – I expect my grandparents do this a lot too! And to you xx

A beautiful piece. I don’t know how we end up but I like to think there’s this much beauty to come in the uncertainty of death.

Oh Vic this is so beautiful. I believe the same as you and it gives me great strength to feel watched over and supported by those that we have lost. Thanks for hosting #prose4t and for the mention for our BritMums round-ups. Dawn x
