Glass. A Poem for #Prose4T and #ThePrompt

Glass. A Poem for #Prose4T and #ThePrompt

On the floor and all around
No more I hear the smashing sound
Eyes ablaze, emotionless
I wonder in fear, what’s coming next
Shards of glass, such a mess

I look out onto the street
I hear the passing feet
Afraid of what’s in store
I step through the door
Walking on glass, can’t take any more

Broken hearts, In time will mend
The sadness I feel, one day, will end
On my way, I shall recover
I hope one day I will discover
This heart of glass will hold another

Beautiful poem. I like that there is hope as well. Lovely picture.

There is so much emotion in this, and the words are very powerful. I love the journey we’re taken on through the poem too, and the hopeful ending. Wonderful. Thank you for sharing with #ThePrompt and for hosting #Prose4T xx

This poem feels like you’ve written it perhaps from experience. I particularly liked the last verse which is so hopeful. Glass is such a good prompt, I would write about sea glass which is soft sided! X Thanks for hosting #prose for thought
