An Outfit Fit for Valentines Day with Mainline Menswear

An Outfit Fit for Valentines Day with Mainline Menswear

When I was much younger, Valentines Day was a rather big deal for me. I can remember living in hope as I saw my friends get cards at school and I once again got passed up! Saying all that, it didn’t really spoil the magic of the day for me. As I have got older, I feel it has become far too commercialised and a bit OTT for my liking!

A combination of dates

Ross and I tend to combine the anniversary of the start of our relationship together with Valentines Day as we started going out together on 10th February 2011. In more recent years, Ross has also been out playing with his band, D-State, at various gigs and Valentine’s Charity balls and sometimes I have gone along too (far less expensive and obvious than sitting in a restaurant with 20 or more other couples!).

An outfit for the occasion

When Mainline Menswear told me that they were running a competition to win a massive £1250 worth of designer gear for Ross by simply putting together an outfit for the occasion, I had to give it a go. I wanted to try and combine the type of outfit he would be able to wear to take me out for a bite to eat first and then go on to wear at a gig straight after. Smart/Casual is definitely the way to go.

I decided to opt for a black and white theme – you can’t really go too far wrong with that!

T-Shirt

Of course, I had to choose something fitting of a rock god(!), so it had to be this Religion Praying Skeleton Flag T Shirt in White which will certainly make an impact. Current price: £14.85

Shirt

I did have to think about the type of restaurant we might go to so, in order to cover up the t-shirt (just in case), I have chosen this Full Circle Luisa Long Sleeved Crinkle Cut Shirt in Optic White. Current price: £10

Jeans

This also had to be fit for the lead singer of a band, and these Versus Versace Denim Jeans In Grey do just the job. They have some fading with distressed edges and feature the Versace logo in silver on the back. Current price: £107.42

Jacket

To compliment the ensemble, I also went for this Nudie Jeans Heath Leather Jacket. It fastens to the front with a metal zip and there are two chest pockets as well as two slanted pockets on the waist. Current price: £185.63

Shoes

Ross is very picky about his footwear so I had to tread carefully here (excuse the pun!). His usual footwear of choice are his cowboy boots but I wanted to choose something from the Mainline site which not only went with his outfit and looked stylish but also provided him with some comfort. I chose these Versus Versace Leather Trainers In Black. I really the Lion logo adds something to them and they look like they would be very comfortable. Current price: £127.22

Accessories

Finally, to round off the Valentines outfit of choice, I opted for this Versace Collection Reversible Medusa Belt In Black And Grey to compliment his jeans. Another silver logo to add to the collection! Current price: £126.

In order to lug his band bits and bobs around, Ross carries around a small purple back but I thought I would treat him to a new one with this Hugo Boss Orange Saturn Holdall In Black. There are plenty of sections to stow away things like his microphone and batteries and keep them protected. Current price: £103.95

I have to say that I would be very happy to go out for a meal with Ross in this outfit – and then, of course, follow on to support him as he sings the rest of the night away!
