This week hosts a very fitting Song for the Weekend. For those of you who follow my vlogs regularly, you will know that Ross and I are currently in Alicante, Spain undergoing our second round of IVF treatment using donor eggs.
I don’t often share classical music or songs without lyrics but I wanted something specific. You see, today is fertilisation day. The day that our embryos will come into the world and will start to grow and develop – and we will be a few miles up the road, willing them on. At this stage – until we get to the clinic later – we won’t know how many there will be. Our kind donor has 18 follicles so all is looking positive.
Life by Ludovico Einaudi used to have another meaning for me. It was the music I used to accompany my acting showreel. Now, however, it has taken on a different role. I listen to this and imagine those little lives growing, getting ready to flourish – as Ross and I wait for them from a distance. I also wish I could house them straight away. Care for them and help them develop. Tuesday cannot come soon enough now.
As I listen to this song, I can just imagine Life growing. Fittingly the album that the song comes from is called ‘In a Time Lapse’. Take a listen and see what you think.
