There is nothing that stresses me out more at home than a bad smell. I don’t mean that in the metaphorical sense, I mean it in the actual real life, walk into your home and there is a whiff sense.
Having recently developed a new-found love for diffusers, I was really pleased when House of Fraser offered us some lovely diffusers and candles to use in our home. Up until that point I had been using diffusers which cost a £1 each from the Factory Shop up the road. There is a fine line to tread between not spending a fortune and making sure your house smells nice, however, you certainly get what you pay for. The ones I had been buying were lasting probably two weeks. Not so with the new ones.
This beautiful set of 3 diffusers from Pied A Terre are now placed carefully in our home. One in the lounge, one in the hall and one on our landing – giving them all an equal chance of reaching around the house.
I opted for Fig and Cassis for the landing, Iris and Vetiver for the hallway and Plum and Black Amber for the lounge. All of these smells match the areas they are serving.
There are 3 important differences in using the Pied a Terre products instead of the cheapy option from up the road.
- They have a stronger, better smell
- They last A LOT longer. The cheap ones lasted two weeks at a push, the Pied a Terre ones have been in place for just over two weeks now and they are still three quarters full!
- They look much classier. I love the bottles, coupled with the black diffuser sticks.
There is a lot to be said for false economy!
The candles also come in a set of 3 and compliment the diffusers with the same smells. So, if you are after a little more relaxation, it is lovely to accentuate the smells by lighting one of these too – either that or light one of them whilst you are relaxing in the bath. They also come in beautiful packaging and I love the candle holders, I think they are a fabulous addition to any room. They would also make a great gift.
You will find the Pied a Terre diffusers and candles in their Home and Furniture range over on the House of Fraser website.
