Little Adventures: Barny’s Walk to School

Barny 2We recently volunteered to take part in the Little Adventures Linky Challenge in partnership with the new yummy bear-shaped snack, Barny.  We first saw these a couple of months ago on introductory offer in our local supermarket. They were so delicious that we couldn’t resist joining in. So we were lucky enough to not only get sent two packs to sample, but also a wonderful discovery set with two further packs of Barny cakes, a book about bugs and a bug tunnel.

The other reason we were so keen to take part is because of Grace and her fascination with all things nature. She is always collecting leaves, shells, conkers, acorns….I regularly find them in the bottom of our washing machine when I don’t check her pockets properly! She came home from school today to tell me that she was in a queue under the horse chestnut tree shouting at the conkers to fall down. Last week – unbeknown to me – she started to keep a pet woodlouse in a pot in her room and was feeding it grass. She even took to school as her show and tell! Thankfully poor ‘Twinkle’ – yes, that was her name! – was inspected in the new bug tunnel and then set free to go home to her family.

One of the places we regularly see different types of nature and wild life is on our walk to school.  Here is a video of Barny’s Little Adventure with us on that very walk.

What a lovely video – Grace is a star! I love the story about the pet Woodlouse – something I would catch our children doing. Thanks for linking up and sharing with Country Kids.
