Choices and Illusions. A Review of the new Eldon Taylor book.

bookcover_smallerI was recently asked to join the blog tour to support the revised, expanded and updated book by Eldon Taylor called ‘Choices and Illusions’. The original book was a New York Times Best Seller but I have to admit to knowing nothing about it…until I received the book and was captivated.

I am a great believer in the power of positive thought. I firmly believe that to go around with a negative thought process does not help whatsoever and that whatever your attitude would mean a self fulfilling prophecy. This book is inspirational and affirming in teaching you how to put all of this into practice. There are practical examples which have been thoroughly researched by Eldon that show what the power of the mind can do.

One of my favourite analogies in the book is the example of an eagle being adopted by a hen when it fell out of its nest and brought up in a chicken’s yard, not believing that they can do anything other than a chicken can do – including the fact that it can fly. Anyone can spread their wings and metaphorically fly if you really turn your mind to it and it’s amazing how strong that mind can actually be if you use it in the right way.

Eldon’s book is inspirational and an empowering read. There is plenty to hold your interest including exercises to take part in and proof that your mind can be conditioned into thinking a certain way. This book claims to help you realise your true potential, how you can find peace and how you can create the life you’ve always wanted.  After reading this book I see no reason why any of these things are beyond anyone’s reach if they really turn their mind to it and believe in themselves. Even if you don’t make it at least you know you have tried.

Eldon Taylor is a New York Times best-selling author and is considered to be an expert in the field of subconscious learning. He has made a lifelong study of the human mind and has earned doctoral degrees in psychology and metaphysics. He is a Fellow with the American Psychotherapy Association (APA) and a nondenominational minister. Eldon has served as an expert witness in court cases involving hypnosis and subliminal communication.

Eldon was a practicing criminalist for over ten years specializing in lie detection and forensic hypnosis. Today he is president and director of Progressive Awareness Research, Inc. Since 1984 his books, audio programs, lectures, radio and television appearances have approached personal empowerment from the cornerstone perspective of forgiveness, gratitude, self-responsibility and service.
