Personalised Cufflinks by RING Jewellery. A Review.

With a review of another one his birthday presents from RING Jewellery, I’m handing my blog over to Ross Owen Williams.

The classic old adage tells us that the best things come in small packages – and it was within a very small package that one of my favourite birthday gifts came this year. The simple yet beautifully presented box contained a pair of square, silver cufflinks. I’ve long been a cufflink kinda guy, so I thought ‘excellent, another addition to my collection’. Upon closer inspection, just how special this particular pair of cuffs is became apparent.

Earlier this year, my first book was released. Co-authored with global wrestling superstar Bob ‘Hardcore’ Holly, the Hardcore Truth has received excellent reviews and been number one in Amazon’s wrestling charts on several continents. I’ve got a special place in my heart for this book and, with this gift, now I could wear my heart on my sleeve – there, framed by gleaming silver, was the cover of my book, immortalised in a pair of cufflinks. What better reminder could there be of the book I co-authored?!

Aside from looking absolutely fantastic, being just the right weight and size to be functional rather than novelty, I suspect these cufflinks are going to fulfil two very useful purposes for me moving forward. To wit…

Firstly, it’s a great talking point. I often get asked about my book, so being able to whip out my cuffs and say “check these out!” is fantastic. Sure, there’s possibly an element of posing and posturing in there but, hey – the people who wear cufflinks in the first place understand the importance of image! And let’s be honest, it’s a good trick to have up (or on) your sleeve if you encounter one of *those* highly irritating designer-everything fellows who insist on pointing out how ridiculously expensive their overpriced brand cuffs were. Being able to say “that’s nice. Check THESE out. It’s a picture of the book I’ve had published…” could be worth its weight in gold.

Ah, boys and their toys, right?! Don’t worry, I’m shaking my head at myself too…

More importantly, it’s a reminder to me to keep going after my dreams. During my 20s, I put my dream of being a writer to one side and worked in recruitment, suited, booted and sporting cuffs every work day of my life. I finally got to a point where I was able to pursue my original goal in earnest and set about doing so. It’s been a hard few years but the Hardcore Truth is (hopefully) the first step to establishing myself. Being able to see a reminder that I have begun to finally achieve my dreams every time I lift my pen, check my watch, take a drink – it’s going to be an ongoing motivator to keep on going – and hopefully build a large collection of cufflinks featuring pictures from all my books and films!

Similar cufflinks, available through RING Jewellery, can be personalised with your own designs and are part of a superb range of products which include pendants, bracelets and titanium rings. I would thoroughly recommend RING for their friendly, professional approach, quick completion and delivery of order, and their excellent products.

With thanks to RING Jewellery who sent the cufflinks for the purpose of this review.
