Tomorrow Billy Smart’s Circus starts a five day run of performances in Ascot, Berkshire. Only up the road from where we live. Fantastic! This Saturday is my birthday and, as a treat, we are all off to the Circus for a fun-packed afternoon.
I am so excited. I haven’t been to the Circus since I was a child. I remember when it came to a field near our house in Woking. I couldn’t tell you which Circus troupe it was, but I have very fond memories of going.
Coming back to the modern day, the 2013 UK tour of Billy Smart’s is brimming with a dazzling combination of theatre, music and dance. Their amazing international artistes bring you a sensational mix of acrobatics, comedy, juggling, illusion and aerial feats. This all human performance will include a fantastic Australian flying trapeze act which has been the toast of the circus world and Desiree’s hand balancing act in which she fires a bow and arrow – with her feet! They also have acrobats, jugglers, breath-taking aerialists and even a fireman who works his routine on a flaming ladder!
This all sounds absolutely wonderful and I can’t wait to go. There are plenty of chances for you too. Starting on Wednesday 15th May there are two performances a day, with 3 on Saturday 18th May. Tickets start from £7 online. More details can be found at their website here.
Look out for my review to follow!
