Dukan? You Can! My Diet Journey – Week 11

You know what? I am sooooo bored!! I am bored, bored, bored of dieting. I have had a very busy and difficult week and I haven’t slept well at all. I then find that when I am like this, I am less inclined to care so much about what I eat and whether I exercise – BUT – and it’s a big but (with one ‘t’!) since starting this diet, as soon as I find myself about to eat something that I shouldn’t that the guilt I feel about having it far out-weighs the feeling I would get from eating it in the first place….if that makes any sense?!

So I had a couple of things in very small quantities. For example last Friday I chose a burger over alcohol. Then, on Saturday, I chose some decent chocolate with a large amount of cocoa in (85% to be exact!) and a small glass of wine. On Sunday, Ross’ sister, Anna, and her boyfriend, Gus, came over and we had Sunday lunch together. I substituted potatoes for out savoury oatcakes. Anna told me that she thought that they were a bit like Yorkshire puddings. With lunch I had a glass of wine and other than that, I believe I was fairly well-behaved.

This week I have found myself going without lunch AND not going to the gym because I have been so busy! We had a KFC on Wednesday evening, which probably wasn’t a good but I was very careful with the amount I ate. Other than that, evenings have meant sticking with Dukan and eating has mainly become a function during the weekdays. So, I haven’t strictly stuck to Dukan as such but I haven’t deviated off the diet path to do any major damage.

For the first time in ages I went to put on my suit to go to a corporate casting yesterday and found that my favourite grey suit with the wasitcoat basically swamped me and made me look untidy! I had to go with the tight-fitting dress instead! (secretly I hope I get the job just for that reason!!).

So, I wonder how my weight has faired as a result of this annoyance and deviation?! I have continued to weigh myself everyday and the scales have still been fairly kind.

The results for this week are as follows:

  • Last Friday: 149.0lbs
  • This Friday: 150.0lbs
  • Loss for the week: +1.0lbs
  • Total loss so far: 15.4lbs
  • Total to go: 5.0lbs

You know what? It’s easy to say that putting on a pound means I’ve done badly. But I haven’t. I haven’t done badly at all. Looking at the bigger picture, I have LOST over a stone in less than two months, so putting on one measley pound in a week really isn’t a big deal in the grand scheme of things!

Watch out for my ranty post a bit later today which will give you some idea of the week I have had. Good riddance to January. I aim to do bettter next week!

You’re doing SO well, so don’t stress about the lb! I am trying to lose weight too, but I’m doing the anti-diet http://www.thelondoner.me/2012/01/anti-diet.html and it doesn’t really feel like dieting. It seems to be working, and its more about the way I look at food and eating in general than calorie counting and scales, which I like xxx

Thank you so much for the support Steph. I’ve just looked at the diet you’re doing and what a fantastic idea – it looks great! Good luck with it. I have to say that this diet has really helped change my attitude to food! 🙂 x
