Girls Talk – a Wot So #Funee Post

A Profile Drawing of Yours Truly by Grace

I can’t believe we are here again, Tuesday and this weeks Girls Talk – a Wot So #funee post. Just where does the time go?

Thank you for all your lovely comments about my very amusing daughter. The more the weeks go by, the more I realise what a character Grace is and how pleased I am to have this blog to keep a full record (ready to embarrass her when she’s older *snigger*!).

This past week has been all about Grace the drama queen (no…honestly…. really….I don’t know WHERE she gets it from! ;)).

When picking her up from school last Thursday, she was in a rather good mood – despite the fact that she had hurt her thumb – I casually said to her ‘You’re in a good mood Miss’, the response back was ‘Don’t call me a ‘Moody Miss’, that’s it now, you have put me in a bad mood!’ and as a result I had the whinging about her thumb all the way home!! Upon arriving home, I was asked for some ‘ETC’. ‘ETC Grace? What on earth are you talking about, ETC?!’ After about 10 minutes it transpired that she was after some TCP for her sore thumb!

The following day we were talking about my diet. Grace was extremely complimentary to me. ‘Mum’ she said, ‘you are sooooo much thinner than my dad’. I responded ‘That’s not difficult darling, he is rather large. ‘Yes, Mum’ replied Grace ‘but you don’t get it. You are way way way way way way thinner. You are as thin as a thin thing on a thin day in thin land’!  I love that kid!!

Finally, last night, Grace the complete Drama Queen appeared. Firstly, it was her arm. The conversation from Grace went like this. ‘Mum, my arm is really aching’ ‘Mum, it really is aching so much, it’s worse than dying, even if it just aches for 15 minutes it’s worse than dying.’ ‘Look, I can’t even hold it up anymore, it’s gone all floppy and won’t go stiff’. ‘I think my bone is broken or maybe it’s just integrated’ (I think she meant disintegrated!!).

Then, just before bed, I had this: ‘Mum, I have got three really bad newses for you. First there is a car alarm outside. Then my carpet in my bedroom is ripped. The last thing is my nightie is on backward but I think this will be ok because I am your daughter and you are a lady and once you were a child so you know what it’s like’

I am starting to wonder if this is what I was/am like?!!

That little girl is destined for the stage. I predict an “Actually Mummy” sitcom. I love how we are just supposed to understand their logic and reasoning and yet we have no idea where it came from.
