One of the best things about ‘Getting Ready for Christmas’ is the traditional School Nativity play. Last week Ross and I attended Grace’s Nativity Play. We knew the week before that she was practicing to be an Angel due to the fact that she was practicing the songs on us. Plus I got that ‘note in the book bag’ saying Please make sure that your child provides a white top, white tights and a piece of silver tinsel in a named bag by Friday 30th November! As usual, I had a last minute panic to find white tights!
So, come Tuesday at 1.40pm last week the throng of parents started to queue up to scramble for the best seats in the school hall! All the girls in Reception and Year 1 were Angels, all the boys were Shepherds and Year 2 made up the main cast.
It was a lovely performance and, when the Angels started singing their solo ‘Mary, Listen to Me’, I have to admit I did actually cry! Softie old me!
Of course, come the end of the performance there was the paparazzi of parents trying to get the best shot of their little darlings in their costumes to keep for posterity in the years of Christmas’ to come, and I include myself in that!
This photo of Grace (centre) completely sums up the little girl she is to me this Christmas. Loving with her friends and a cheeky little soul too!
I am entering this post into the #MotoReadyforXmas competition on the Tots 100 site.
