Bedtime can be one of the most stressful parts of the day for many parents. This fact has now been researched by Blinds 2 Go and 29% of the parents who completed the survey confirmed that this was the case. They found it the most challenging part of the day – even beating the shopping trip on the stress factor scale.
A further study into this found that creating the right environment for your child to be able to sleep is important to help block out as many interruptions as possible. Blackout roller blinds are something that I ensured that Grace had in all the bedrooms she has slept over the last 8 years. This helps dull any noise or light which help, especially if where you live is noisy or well-lit. It will also help with the lighter mornings which are almost upon us.
Following on from this research, Blinds 2 Go thave just launched some new digital print blinds and, to celebrate this, they are currently running a competition to get your kids involved with their own bedtime: #DesignedByKids. The idea is to get your children to design what they’d like to see on a blind in their bedroom; the winner’s entry will then be made into a real blind designed to fit in your home along with an additional £250 to spend at Blinds 2 Go*.
So, when I asked Grace to come up with a design for her room, this is what she drew.
The reason she chose a sealife scene was because of the under the sea mural on the opposite wall to her window. I love all the different elements that she has put in, including sharks, dolphins, turtles and the octopus. When I asked her if she was going to give it some colour, she responded with the fact that she wanted something simpler and in black and white.
What will your kids come up with?
