Week 6 of my diet and fitness plan and, this week, I am utterly delighted to have reached not one but TWO milestones!
My fourth week on The New You Plan and this now feels like a way of life. Because I am seeing results week on week, it is making it easier to ignore the people around me who are eating crisps, takeaways and cake. At my sisters baby shower at the weekend there was food absolutely everywhere! Cake, quiches, pizza and sandwiches. I ignored it all and just drank pints of water. I did take one of my NYP snacks with me and had that – just so I didn’t feel left out.
If you haven’t heard of the diet I am doing yet, this is a total food replacement plan which puts you into ketosis in order to help you lose weight. This is the last week of my 4 week review but, because I am so happy with the results, I have extended it by purchasing another 3 weeks.
The diet is based on 4 packets a day, 4 litres of water a day and 2 or 3 snacks a week – all ketosis-friendly. On top of that you are allowed up to 250mls of skimmed milk per day and green or peppermint tea but NO fruit as they would take you out of ketosis. They also have a really comprehensive refeed programme so that you don’t put back on all the weight you have lost.
I am pleased to say that I have not missed ‘normal’ food at all this week! I really don’t care for it if I am honest. The only thing I am gutted about is that I have run out of my chocolate orange Beanies coffee.
With two missed gym sessions last week, I was a little concerned…but Grace and I walked to school most days, I continued with my squats and Grace and I also played ‘Just Dance’ on the Wii for most of last week. I have to highly recommend it (especially Just Dance 2 – we absolutely cracked up at the dance for ‘Hey Ya’!). I hope to have a better one on the exercise front this week.
I have to admit to at least one meltdown last week! My menstrual cycle has gone a bit haywire (I was warned about this) so I have upped my vitamin intake by starting a review of some Isotonix supplements. They seem to be helping me. I have also had to purchase a batch of Fybogel for obvious reasons (I was also warned about this!).
What I have noticed is how much slimmer my face is looking. I did take my measurements at the beginning of the New You Plan and haven’t taken them since, so I am intrigued to see what the results at the end of all of this will be.
It sounds weird but my finger nails are the strongest they have ever been and my hair is feeling in much better condition – so much so that I got it re-styled on Friday when I was up at my Mum’s.
My fourth week on the New You Plan looks like this:
Weight at the beginning of my diet: 187lbs
Weight last Monday: 171.0lbs
Weight this Monday: 168.0lbs
Loss for the week: 3.0lbs
Total Loss so far: 19lbs
Starting BMI: 27.2
Current BMI: 24.8
That is a total of 11.6lbs in 4 weeks on the New You Plan – and I am utterly thrilled to not only be under 170lbs but also back in my normal BMI!
Disclosure: I was sent the the Epson Pulsense and 4 weeks of the New You Plan together with 2 months membership at 1610 gym for review as part of my health and fitness plan, however all words and opinions expressed are my own and have not been influenced in any way.
