Say Hive to a New Way of Saving Money

Last week I was contacted about a great new product on the market. Hive. Sounds like something to do with bees or honey doesn’t it? It is actually a great new way to save money on your heating bills and there is another way of looking at the name.  Your home is in effect your hive. Somewhere to live, somewhere you spend your time and is usually full of activity.

Being a homeowner with your own hive, you would also want to save money, wouldn’t you? Well this is where Hive Active Heating comes into play and works bang up to date with all your latest technology.

Hive Active Heating provides you with all the modern technology to enable you to control your heating wherever you are. Included in the package is a thermostat which is easy-to-use and means you can control the temperature of your heating whilst you are at home. It even includes automatic frost protection which adjusts the temperature to prevent frozen pipes and, as a result, a burst.  The thermostat is then connected to a Hub which plugs into your broadband router so the heating can then be connected to the internet and controlled remotely – clever, huh?! Then there is the tiny little receiver which is placed close to your boiler. So small as to not be an eyesore, it enables the thermostat and the boiler to talk to each other.

Finally, my favourite thing, is the App. Download this for free to either your Android or iPhone it means you can control your hot water or your heating from your phone – wherever you might be. Now, I don’t know about you, but if I am away from home for a long period of time I don’t want all that hot water and heating going to waste but, in the same vein, I don’t want to come back to a freezing cold house and no hot water. There are plenty of other things you can do from the Hive App too.

So Hive = problem solved!

The outlay for all this wonderful modern technology is £199. A bit of an expense upfront but if this is going to save me money in the long run then I’m all for it!

Also have to say that I rather like their logo colour – good choice 😉
