One of the trickiest things around Christmas for us is deciding what to buy Grace. The reason being is that it is so close to her birthday – 2nd January – that I never know what ‘main’ present I should get her for either day! This year though it has been a little simpler. She has told me that she would like riding lessons for her birthday so it will be cold hard cash I need to part with and not
traipsing around a visit to the shops.
This has, of course, made it much easier with trying to find her a main Christmas present. She didn’t really have too much of an idea of what she wanted and I made it very clear that I didn’t have an awful lot of money to spend BUT I decided to show her the list of Dream Toys here at Argos to see what she would choose if I, say, won the lottery!
This list is the Toy Retailers Association’s top toys of 2013 which includes the Furby Boom, the Flutterbye Fairy and Robofish. Also on that list is the toy Grace choose as her dream Christmas gift – the Teksta Robotic Puppy!
The other day we were walking to school when we saw a couple of people walking their dogs. Grace turned to me and said ‘Mum, I wish we had a dog. I am so jealous of all these people who have got one!’. So on hearing this I decided I HAD to get her that Puppy and so, after checking my bank account, I did!
It looks absolutely fantastic as well. I chose the pink one. She has the ability to respond to your voice, over 100 physical and interactive play features and comes with a ball and a bone. You can also control her using your iPad. She barks, cries and whimpers too!
She used to have a dog she named Alfie which was fluffy and walked by pressing buttons on it’s lead but I found that it broke so quickly and – to be honest – I think Grace may have been a little young for it anyway. Not so this time though 🙂 I feel confident that she will give Teksta a happy, loving home without the hassle of having to feed it and take it for walks!
I really can’t wait to see Grace’s face when she opens this on Christmas Day – she is going to be thrilled! Although I have a feeling she will be competing with Ross’ Dad in a bid to play with her!
