Christmas is coming up rather close on the nearside. All of a sudden it tends to side swipe you when you are least expecting it and now, with it being almost mid-November, I feel that I can start looking forward to, and blogging about, the festive season (although, don’t worry – I won’t start putting up the Christmas Decorations on my blog until December starts!).
So, this afternoon John Lewis contacted little old me to say that a space had become available in their Secret Santa Challenge and would I like to take it?…me?!…you betcha I do!! With all of their amazing Christmas items, how could I not agree?
I know that there are a number of other bloggers taking part and I have read lots of posts with interest wondering who is getting what for who and – because I always love watching other people unwrap their presents – I was really looking forward to seeing what they would all receive.
Now, because I am also in the running to receive as well as being one of the people to choose, I can be a part of all that! It does make my job a little tricky in the fact that I need to choose a gift for a blogger who I don’t know all that well. Yes, I have been given the name of the person. No, I am not going to tell you who it is! 😉 The pressure is also slightly on in the fact that unlike the others, I get about 12 hours to research and decide on which of the 3 suggested presents I am going to choose for my recipient – and for most of those hours I am going to be sleeping!
Thankfully the person I am giving to has quite clearly stated on their blog that one particular present is out because they don’t like it! This narrows it down to two. Hmmm…what to do, what to do!
All gifts are going to be sent out on 25th November so I am really looking forward to seeing what someone has chosen for me, as well as seeing what everyone gets too!
Having only ever taken part in one Secret Santa before this is really exciting. I think this is a fabulous idea from John Lewis. It’s given me a blog to read, created some excitement and brought the blogging community together to be able to give a proper, decent gift to someone.
And, to the blogger I am giving to, I really really hope I’ve made the right choice for you 🙂
