It seems like rather a long time ago that I volunteered to host the BritMums Carnival, way back around Christmas in fact! Back then I had never run a linky in my life and my blog was only just 3 months old. In that time an awful lot has happened. I run not one but two linkys now so reading people’s blog posts is a major past time and source of enjoyment for me.
To say that I am stressed this week is an understatement. We are moving house and to throw a spanner in the works yesterday, our removals company let us down. Reading some funny posts was just what the Doctor ordered!
I asked for your funny and embarrassing moments and you haven’t let me down, so thank you to everyone who has joined in with this BritMums Carnival post. I am one of those people who does tend to put my foot in my mouth and say the wrong thing at the wrong moment. Either that or I walk out of the toilet with my skirt tucked in my knickers, toilet paper stuck to my shoe – or both! – and then try to act as if I’ve done it on purpose! The other funnies in my life right now are courtesy of my daughter and you will find three of her most amusing videos here, here and here.
First up is Actually Mummy, she of the funee linky – the first one I ever joined and, thanks to her, the reason I note down pretty much everything Grace ever says. As a Mum I believe we all have Gin on the agenda, but little do we realise that our kids are noting us down too!
Judith at Secrets of the Sandpit regularly links up to Prose For Thought and she recently wrote a poem about cringeworthy moments. I think we have all experienced these!
There really is something funny about kids covering their faces in food – and I think the funniest substance for me has to be chocolate! Leyla over at This Day I Love shares with us photos of her daughter and her latest line in face packs!
Over at New Mum on Line’s YouTube Channel, Lisa’s little boy has got hold of the camera and is doing his best about trying to get his Mum to pose and smile but the word ‘cheese’ just isn’t cutting it!
After seeing the brilliant – and very funny – video over at Kip Hakes, I think my new party game of choice will certainly be Chubby Bunnies! I have a feeling it could get rather messy, I’ll make sure to have a plastic bag handy!
Cathie who blogs at Wicked World of Lucas always makes me laugh with her son’s antics and this post appropriately cracks me up even more as it involves eggs (cracks, eggs, geddit?!! Oh, never mind), although as involves a different type of egg please don’t call Social Services on her, OK?!
Interviewing kids always results in hilarious consequences as they are so honest about the whole thing! The Boy and Me has a fantastic videoand there are many funny moments including the moment of asking what his favourite snack is and what he has in cheese sauce!
I hate it when something has gone missing but sometimes it’s even worse when it’s found! Over 40 and a Mum To One knows all about this!
Now then, have you ever – as a Mum – stayed up late and then been on parent duty the next day and then live to regret it? Well Michelle over at Mummy from the Heart does. She had to have lots of ‘serious chats’ that morning! Michelle is also your lovely host for the next BritMums Carnival on 2nd July.
There is something exceedingly funny about comedy falls and Helen’s boy over at KiddyCharts is no exception. Grace and I had to watch this video a couple of times we laughed so much.
Galina has given us a a post that guarantees funny moments when combining pregnancy brain and small children – it is putting the ‘show’ into showroom!
Poor Distressed Housewife had to resort to a ‘comedy fall’ to cheer her husband up at a particularly difficult moment – I visualised this in slow motion when I read it! Meanwhile, the lovely Liz at The Mum Blog had to resort to a Segway for her comedy moment, I’m reckoning Disney won’t be touching these with a barge pole now!
The lovely little man over at Three Years & Home is learning how to be ‘friends’ with the Schwimming pool! Don’t forget that water is wet and look out for the pandas!
A couple of weeks ago, Charly over at PODCast made the mistake of mentioning that fact that her maxi dress got into a fight with an escalator and everyone – particularly me – bugged her until she wrote a post about it! Thank you for sharing 😉
I forgot to put Mummy Makes Cakes on my post so she is an addition today (19th June!). You can always rely on children to say things at the most embarrassing moments – and to the types of people you don’t want them to say it to! On this post, it’s the Vicar!
Finally, I’m afraid I am a little bit prone to toilet humour, I guess it is the kid in me! These two bloggers had me laughing heartily at their posts which also linked up to Shoulder to Shoulder to Day – and it was they who gave me the idea for the theme for the BritMums Carnival. The first was Instinctive Mum and her need to use the loo – and how she had to go about it with broken facilities! The second was Mad Cats and Babies and poor Karen’s experience of a ‘poonami’!!
So, that’s your lot. I hope you will go across and visit all the lovely bloggers who have been kind enough to give us a laugh and comment on their posts.
All that remains for me to say is have a great week and – if you are going to BritMums Live – I’ll see you there. I’ll be the one with the logo on my t-shirt on Saturday!
