YAY!! Go me!! (Bit of self-congratulation there, sorry!). I have actually done it :). I have written 30 new poems in 30 days and really enjoyed the challenge. I thought it would be fitting to end it with one about how I have learnt to see life. I would like to say thank you to everyone who has commented on any of my poems over the last month and I have also been really pleased to include the event as part of my Prose For Thought link. The poem is below and at the bottom of the post, I have also linked in the other 29 poems in case you would like to pop back and ready any of them. Enjoy!
The Things That I Have Learnt
Live life simply, honest and true
Isn’t that what we should do?
Wake each morning with a stride
Don’t hold back, enjoy the ride
Treat each day like it’s our last
Learn and then let go of the past
Things may come to test our worth
We can all get by with a bit of mirth
Learn from things, from our mistakes
The bigger the risk, the higher the stakes
Live your life without hate or regret
The bad things it’s better to forget
Since I have had my fingers burnt
These are the things that I have learnt
