When we were younger, my sister and I used to take the mickey out of my Mum’s pushchair obssession! We couldn’t walk past Babyland in Woking without my Mum stopping to look at the latest in pushchair technology. Of course, way back then we didn’t have the internet so we didn’t have my Mum sitting down for hours on end trawling through different websites (oh, how times have changed!). Inevitably we would be dragged into the shop to have a look around and I can recall happy memories of way back then (it helped that the shop was full of toys too!).
Anyway, when I had Grace, a similar obssession developed in the fact that I was looking for a pushchair that folded up small enough to fit in the back of the Mini. It wasn’t easy I can tell you! I hunted high and low and eventually came up with an option which I swapped again a few months later.
Now however, I have found a rescue remedy for all you Mum’s in a similar predicament to mine back then in the form of some lightweight strollers and pushchairs from Britax. I have always turned to the familiar names in the comfort that they have longevity and a long-standing place in the market.
The one that caught my eye in the first instance was one which would fold up small enough for some of the micro cars. This is the Britax B-AGILE. It has a one-handed easy pull-fold mechanism, a light-weight chassis, a 5 point safety harness, can be used from newborn upwards and it incorporates a travel system. As well as all of this, you have comfort in the knowledge that this pushchair has the ‘Which Best Buy’ seal of approval.
There are many other systems to choose from including the B-AGILE Double and the better know Britax Affinity.
Dare I say that I hope to have another baby at some point in the not too distant future. Britax will be my first stop in the great pushchair hunt (Hope that the B-AGILE is still available!).
