Today marks the last diet post for a while. I have decided to update this on a monthly instead of weekly basis as I feel that the changes are so minor now in comparison to when I first started. I am also getting busier with other things (details to follow later!). There seems to be a reoccurring theme every week of a similar way of eating and exercising and my posts are the same, just written in a slightly different way!
Last weekend I was pretty good really. A few glasses of wine here and there. There is also a special offer in Morrisons at the moment for their rather delicious takeaway-style curries – as a result these have become a bit of a staple for us this week! I tend to have mine without the rice to keep the carb count low.
Ross has been poorly so has basically eaten comfort food all week – and who can blame him. The worst I have had is a scone with jam and cream. The best thing about the Dukan diet is that it has really taught me to know my limits. If I have a ‘bad day’ (and believe me, these pale into insignificance if you compare them to my old self) then the following day I make up for it by being good. Rather than a diet, this has now become a lifestyle change for me. For example, last night I met up with Suzanne from 3 Children and It and Louise from A Strong Coffee– my first blogger blind date – and stuck to the diet coke. In the past I would have certainly gone for the wine! The worst thing about the Dukan diet? I can’t actually think of anything!
I have now caught Ross’ illness and am doing my best to try and behave. With the promise of Family Film Friday for me, Ross and Grace this evening, I know that I will most likely have chips and chocolate (I wonder if there is such a thing as the ‘ch’ diet?!) but I won’t do it to excess.
I did one round of exercise yesterday but found it really hard with this poorly bout coming on. Still, I’m glad I gave it a go!
Here’s my final stats, until I update you again in 4 weeks:
- Last Friday: 149.2 lbs
- This Friday: 148.8lbs
- Loss for the week: 0.4lbs
- Total loss so far: 16.6lbs
- Total to go: 3.8lbs
Rather a fitting loss to end this weekly post on – my best low yet! I feel that if I never reach the 145lbs that I intended to get to then it certainly won’t be the end of the world but boy will I have a major celebration if I do! And, of course, I would tell you all about it!!
