The idea behind this is a video that MoneySupermarket has put together in which hidden cameras show people’s reactions to finding £20 in their dry cleaning and how we all celebrate life’s little ‘wins’. And so, a selection of bloggers have been given £20 to spend on whatever we wanted providing it gives us that ‘feel good’ feeling.
It’s funny because when you get offered money you start to spend it at least one hundred times over on a thousand different things! Oh, the pressure! But, I have to say that I knew EXACTLY what I needed to spend it on.
A couple of weeks ago, Grace and I spent a girly Saturday together and we agreed that one of the things on our agenda was to do our hair and make-up. I have a vanity case full of lipsticks, eyeliners, mascaras and the like but little did I realise when I opened it just how old and dried up everything is. Grace even used a concealer stick all over my face which turned my skin red in various shades for a couple of days! Even my everyday make-up in the bag I use is looking tired and spent. Time for a makeover for my make-up methinks!
One problem here. We all know how much one tube of lipstick costs, let alone all the other things a girl needs! So it was time to shop around. I am well aware that there are many voucher and deal sites out there and one of them is run by MoneySupermarket of all people! I have to say that I have always wanted to try one of their deals but nothing has caught my eye….until now!
When I searched through their deal site I found that they were offering a L’Oreal Make-up set worth £51.53 for just £19.99, a saving of 61%. Perfect! The set includes mascara, eyeliner, foundation, lipstick, lip gloss and nail polish. It was treating myself courtesy of Moneysupermarket whilst supporting them in the process and giving me a massive saving at the same time. Paying it forward I guess! The deal runs until 11.59pm on 27th February so be quick if you fancy taking them up on their offer. Alternatively, why not look at some of their other offers in their deals and vouchers section.
So, not only have I got myself a decent set of L’Oreal make-up, in the process I bagged myself a bargain at no cost. If that’s not a feel good feeling, then I don’t know what is!
I am now eagerly awaiting the email with the voucher attached so that I can go through and select my choice of colours for each item.
Full Disclosure: I was kindly offered £20 by Moneysupermarket to spend on whatever I wanted. All words and opinions are my own.
