Dukan? You Can! My Diet Journey Week 14

I am starting to wonder if I am boring everyone with this diet post every week?! If I am then please say – and I’ll stop!!

I am now three and a half months into this and losing over a stone is an immense achievement for me, despite the tedium of having nothing much left in my wardrobe that fits and no money to go out and buy some lovely new clothes!

This week has been an ‘interesting’ week by way of both eating and weight. At the weekend I would like to clarify that it was fairly up and down if I am honest! I was good….well….pretty good. I had a couple of glasses of wine on Saturday night but was very sensible on the food front.  The following day Ross, Grace and I went over to our friends, Gordon and Deanna, to have a very relaxed Sunday lunch with them and their boys.  Gordon went to so much effort and the food was gorgeous! We had a starter of pea and ham soup (the best I have EVER had) accompanied by crusty bread and butter, main course was lamb with fondant potatoes, baby carrots and asparagus wrapped in parma ham (the asparagus was amazing and I asked for the recipe! That reminds me, Gordon.. 😉 !). The pudding was to die for. It consisted of homemade lemon and rosemary ice cream, a sable biscuit topped with lime and mango mousse and a parfait topped with mixed berries. I told Gordon it was like something from Masterchef and he came clean and told us that it was from the Masterchef recipe book!

Since then, eating has just been pretty much of a function.  As expected, I have been lacking on the exercise front – although I have walked around more than usual due to the fact that it is half term and I am not sitting in a car all day (apart from Wednesday and Thursday when I was teaching!).

I continue to be very careful about what I eat, how much I have to drink on an alcohol scale and still need to try harder on the exercise. My weight – for women’s reasons…AGAIN!… was all over the place and a little confusing. At one stage I wonder if I needed to get new scales as it had said I had put on 6lbs?!?! Rubbish! The following day I was down 6lbs again!

Time to update you on the stats then:

  • Last Friday: 150.2 lbs
  • This Friday: 149.6lbs
  • Loss for the week: 0.6lbs
  • Total loss so far: 15.8lbs
  • Total to go: 4.6lbs

This week I refuse to make any promises or give any details. I have never been a fatty fat fat (!) and I never will be. I will take each day as it comes, do my best to lose a bit more weight, WILL enjoy my life but not to excess! 🙂
