Dukan? You Can! My Diet Journey Week 13

Another week in semi-diet mode has come and gone and my weight is fluctuating by a pound either way! Which is to be expected with the week I’ve just had. In fact, I’ve learnt a lot about myself and my eating habits over the last 13 weeks. There is no way I can eat as much as I used to without feeling horrible.

Last weekend I was in ‘sod it’ mode which is generally quickly followed by ‘guilty’ mode – although not this week, it was all about enjoying time with my man. On Friday night Ross and I shared one of Tesco’s Indian meals for two – mainly because it was reduced in price! We shared a couple of bottles of wine, I was fairly good the following day and then, on Sunday, as it was our anniversary, Ross and I planned on going out. I thought we were going to our local pub for a roast but Ross had other plans.

Last May, for my birthday, I had expressed an interest in going to Loch Fyne in Wokingham. I’ve been to Loch Fyne before in other places and I love fish. We never got there though because we both ending up filming over my birthday weekend.  So, as we left the cinema and my mind was preoccupied on discussing Les Miserables, Ross drove us to our booking – at Loch Fyne :). A truly lovely thought. I chose Thai Fish Cakes followed by Mussels followed by apple pie and custard. Totally delicious. From the on and up until last night I stuck to Dukan again.

But, of course, as it was Valentines Day yesterday, I had to make use of the Waitrose meal for two offer. So for £20 we had a starter of goats cheese, basil and pesto tarts with bacon followed by a main course of sirloin steak and parmentier potatoes, mixed vegetables and rosemary gravy then pudding was triple chocolate mousse, a box of chocolates all topped off with a bottle of prosecco. I really am not used to eating that much any more and my stomach reminded me of that most of last night by paying me back with an uncomfortable nights sleep and I still feel uncomfortable now!

I have been to the gym once and, with half term upon us next week, it’s going to be a bit tricky to get there again. I ‘ve therefore decided the exercise DVD will be winging its way out of our cupboard!

But, I hear you cry, how have I fared in the weight department? Well, heres this weeks results:

  • Last Friday: 149.0lbs
  • This Friday: 150.2lbs
  • Loss for the week: +1.2lbs
  • Total loss so far: 15.2lbs
  • Total to go: 5.2lbs

Not too bad bearing in mind this past week. There are NO big celebrations next week so no excuses. I’m going to do my best to get down to my best weight yet!!
