Dukan? You Can! My Diet Journey Week12

If there’s one thing I’ve learnt this week, it is that scales and weights fluctuate like there is no tomorrow! I am finding weighing myself every day a bit of a joke actually. When people say they are having ‘thin days’ and ‘fat days’ – and that’s people who are a normal weight by the way! – then I totally believe them. I have also spoken to a couple of people who say that you should disregard the scales and go by how your clothes feel!

What has made me feel this way? At the beginning of this week I weighed 153.4lbs. Ridiculous! How on earth could I have put on 3.4lbs in two days? Last weekend I did eat quite a few sandwiches and a few cakes – including two scones with jam and clotted cream (yum!) – but that was pretty much it. I had no alcohol. Zilch. We went to a party on Saturday night and then went to my Mum’s on Sunday where we had a bit of a ‘do’ for my Stepdad’s birthday. Then (sorry if this is TMI), I got my period and it is a fact that women suffer from water retention amongst other things at this time of the month. See the problem here?!

Other than the weekend, I have been pretty good on the food front this week. No takeaways, small portions and sensible eating. I have discovered that eating dark chocolate with a high percentage of cocoa is not only good for you, but isn’t that fattening. Plus, as it is fairly rich, I don’t eat so much of it!

I have been a good girl and got back to the gym this week too. Two days of gym to be precise! And on both occasions I completed the work-out that the personal trainer set me a few weeks back.

The results for this week?

  • Last Friday: 150.0lbs
  • This Friday: 149.0lbs
  • Loss for the week: 1.0lbs
  • Total loss so far: 16.4lbs
  • Total to go: 4.0lbs

So, I am back to where I was the week before last! I believe that I have now reached my plateau and in order to reach my target, and shift the final 4lbs, it is now all about the exercise to get me down to where I want to be – as well as completely behaving myself at the weekend. However, I will be drinking alcohol and I am looking forward to a lovely Roast with Ross on Sunday. We have plans this weekend, which I don’t intend to relax! The 4lbs will have to wait just a little longer 😉

    you’ve done amazingly well so far Victoria 12 weeks is long time, most would have given up by now, 4lbs can wait, even if it takes another 4-6 weeks! I’m still losing steadily but like you say exercise is probably the key to accelerated weight loss. Enjoy your weekend x
