This week’s #funee starts with Grace telling us all about her dream when she got up for school last Wednesday morning. She explained to us that it was a bad dream, then a good dream, then a bad dream again. ‘Well Mum,’ she said ‘I lost my coat down the toilet which was bad, then I met Stitch (from Lilo and Stitch) which was brilliant but then I was eaten by a squid which was really bad!’  You’re not wrong there Grace!

On the way home from ice skating that evening, Grace decided to give me her rendition of ‘I’m Too Sexy’ by Right Said Fred but, instead of the usual words, it went something like this: ‘I’m too sexy for my bed, too sexy for my house, too sexy for the trees, too sexy for the people, too sexy for school…..in fact I’m too sexy for the world’ Oh dear, what am I raising?!  Then I asked Grace if she thought I was silly. Her response? ‘No you’re lovely. But me? I’m a bit of a mad child sometimes’. Cue silly voices! Riiiight!

Upon arrival home, she had turned into a little madam however. Approaching the front door, she said ‘Mum, do the honours please’!!

On Friday we went to visit our friends Iain and Patrice. Patrice asked Grace what she played at school. Grace explained that she played Lord of the Rings with her friends. Patrice asked how she played it.  Grace replied ‘Well, it’s not at all that simple really. I have to use the whole school as there is a big army. They are all orcs and I am Legolas and I have to keep shooting them!’

Then, travelling home, the song ‘Thunberball’ by Tom Jones came on the radio. ‘Mum?’ asked Grace ‘why is that man doing a really bad impression of Mamma Mia?’ Thankfully I realised what she meant as part of the lyrics to the song are ‘the winner takes it all’ so I started to laugh. I laughed even more when she said ‘the worst thing is, it doesn’t just sound like Mamma Mia, they are also doing a bad impression of James Bond on top of it all’!

Finally, we went to a party on Saturday night where Ross was doing the disco. Grace and I left a bit earlier, mainly because it was way past Grace’s bedtime. I was driving Ross’ Audi and wasn’t doing that well! I apologised to Grace for my driving and she came back with ‘It’s OK Mum, you are just not used to driving an automatic’

Too grown up before her time, don’t you think?!
