So, apparently the Church of England landed themselves in hot water yesterday after making a joke. Yes, that’s right people, a JOKE!!

I read the article today in the Daily Mail and had a good chuckle over a cup of coffee between lessons.

Apparently a Twitter user by the name of ’Just Skippy’ tweeted the church of England after seeing that 34-year-old Katie Price, aka Jordan, married 25 year old builder and part-time stripper, Kieran Hayler, in the Bahamas last week. As this was her third marriage, ‘Just Skippy’ wanted to know the Church of England’s views on her ‘making a mockery’ of marriage’ when they are so against homosexual marriage.

The Church of England came back with, in my opinion, a brilliant answer. They tweeted:

“We don’t have an official policy on Katie Price. Having said that, Jordan gets quite a few mentions in the Old Testament!”

As usual, some of the sourpuss tweeters took offence. At first, ‘Just Skippy’ thought it was a funny response but when another tweeter by the name of  ’Swinbox’ wrote ‘it’s offensive to make jokes when so many hurtful things have been said about gay marriage’ the original tweeter started to change his tune.

Apparently after further exchanges, the Church confirmed they cleared everything up.

To my mind we need more humour in our lives not less. The church were making a joke of Katie Price (who, in my opinion is a joke herself!) NOT gay marriage!

What do you think? Were the Church making a mockery of gay marriage? Were they just making light of the situation? Was this a funny response? Please comment below!
