Reading Eggs – a review and #giveaway!

When I first joined Reading Eggs’ Affiliate programme last year, I was given a free months trial but after just a week, and an offer of 25% discount if we signed up within the first 14 days, Grace and I were hooked and we signed up straight away.

This online learning resource is fantastic.  Grace was able to create her own avatar and, with each learning to read success, you earn golden eggs to spend in the virtual Reading Eggs World. There is your own big house to decorate, a shop to purchase items from and Reggie’s bus which helps your avatar travel around to different learning destinations. Children are able to choose their own adventure from different places to go and things to do. The amount of cheers and smiles it raised from Grace when she completed tasks successfully was a pleasure to see.

Reading Eggs has 120 lessons aimed at 4 to 7 year olds. There is a creative story writing factory and many new books to read in Storylands. Storylands is also there to help build reading fluency and comprehension, spelling, vocabulary, and a range of writing skills including grammar and punctuation.

There is a range of programmes for different age groups too! The playroom is aimed at 3 to 4 year olds to get them started. 5 year olds are introduced to a program which helps compliment their first steps at school. 6 to 7 year olds continue on their learning journey then 7 to 13 year olds join the Reading Eggspress to continue with the development with their reading skills.

One of the things that impressed me initially was that when Grace first started the program, she was given a test to ensure that her lessons were aimed at the level of where she was at in her reading progress. This meant that it wasn’t so easy that it was boring but it was just enough of a challenge to maintain her interest.

I am pleased to be able to offer three people the chance to win a years subscription to Reading Eggs worth £39.95. All you need to do is follow the easy entry Rafflecopter instructions below. Roal Dahl created many of my favorite characters. James and The Giant Peach and The BFG are two of my favorite stories.

Jack Reacher- I just always remember the line “Men want to be him, Women want to be with him”.
But if we’re doing children’s books, well it would have to be the BFG, I would have loved to meet him.
